Product Description

Whether you’re headed to the campground with your family, or elk camp with your hunting buddies, this rugged, all-season tent is well suited for the occasion. Made with premium grade, Hydra-Shield, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Go ahead and touch the inside walls during a downpour—this canvas will not wick water. The Flex-Bow frame has tempered, spring steel rods that keep the tent taut, and robust 1-inch steel tube poles that will hold up to fierce winds. The floor is a seamless, heavy-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. Easy, one-person setup takes only a few minutes after you have it staked out. The steep walls and 6’6” high ceiling provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. Large front and back doors with top rated #10 YKK zippers give convenient access. Four windows, and two vents allow ample air flow. Windows and vents have no-see-um screen mesh, keeping out the smallest bugs. A customizable gear loft and organizer system offer plenty of places to stow gear. A large awning provides shade and a covered entry. The handy strap-and-cinch storage bag means no cramming a tent into an undersized bag. Hefty 12-inch steel stakes included.

5Fabulous family tent
By navyblue
We borrowed my in law's 20+ year old Springbar tent one year and were really impressed by how well it had held up and how easy it was to set up. Tired of our thin ripstop nylon tent with broken poles, we decided we wanted a Springbar for ourselves. However, the price and wait time (they are custom made for each customer) gave us pause. When we found the Kodiak Canvas website we were thrilled! The founder used to work at Springbar, I understand, and view these tents as less a 'knock off' and more an improvement on a good thing. They were more affordable and available for shipping immediately. We bought this 6 man deluxe version three years ago and have had no problems whatsoever. It is sturdy, strong, waterproof, keeps us warm in cold weather, is super easy to put up (even when it's just me and the kids and dad's home working), and we absolutely love it.This tent gets a lot of use from us, we go camping every weekend we can throughout the summer, take it on two family reunions per year, and camp for a week in it during our homeschool's swim camp. Two years ago the weather at swim camp (the last week in May in the mountains of eastern Idaho) was so cold and windy (thank goodness the hot spring pool is indoors). Anyway, of the dozens and dozens of tents set up (200 people or so), ours was one of the very few left standing after a particularly nasty storm. Many tents flooded, uprooted and blew away, collapsed, and even ripped in the wind. We were warm, dry, and comfortable. My one caveat: a six man tent is often great for more like four people with all their gear. We can fit all six of us in this tent but we are a bit squished. I would have liked the 8 man tent but we worried we wouldn't fit on typical tent-plots at camp grounds. To make things work we organize ourselves like so:Two full sized cots hold my 10 year old and 8 year old. We store our gear bags beneath the cots. I use a collapsible hamper in the corner to catch dirty clothes and wet items (especially useful at swim camp, and keeps the small floor space we have left from getting littered with socks and things). We use a smaller child size cot for our 6 year old, then my husband, the toddler, and I sleep on an inflatable mattress on the floor. We have a decent sized walkway by the door left for navigating around. I use the mesh shelf that attaches near the ceiling to hold coats and jackets, and the wall organizer to hold flashlights, stuffable raincoats, and other small items we don't want to lose.I really love the tented entrance, we place rugs inside and outside the tent to cut down on mud and dirt.Cannot recommend this tent and this brand enough.

5Always wanted one, and my dreams are realized!
By Loudsue
I have always pined after canvas tents, but their bulk, number of pieces, and price had always kept me from purchasing. The Kodiak flex bow 6 person canvas tent is a dream. I took it car camping in Colorado 9000ft with my 3yr old. I am a 38 year old solo parent, 5' 6", 120, but strong (I carry my 30lb daughter like she's a peanut, and sometimes a friend of hers too). I had no problem carrying the tent or poles, as long as they're separate. For our first test, I did have help from a friend who was camping in a nearby tipi. He and I thought the directions, as far as the tension rods slipping into and tent material, lacked specifics, but after 2 failed attempts (just 15 minutes) we used our heads and realized that logically it could only go up one way. Total time was 25-30 minutes, but it should have been 10-15. In the future, I could assemble the poles and tent alone, but getting it upright may take help from someone larger than a 3 year old. Hard pressed, I'm sure I could do it alone, but lifting the heavy canvas of the tent is tricky by yourself. Any guy could probably do it, though. The quality is amazing; the door zippers, floor, vents, and material are excellent. The temperature, July 3 in the Rockies, was 41 degrees and we were toasty warm and when the sun hit the tent in the morning we were still comfortable. We slept until 7:30...that, alone, should say something; it's that comfortable. Breaking down the tent, I watched as our friends disassembled it. The directions for breaking it down are conveniently stitched into the tent sack. Again, a couple extra hints may have been nice, like, "fold the tent into fourths and fold", etc. However, anyone with any experience camping would logically look at the tent sack and realize the size it will need to be to fit. So, we are headed out for round 2 this weekend, again in the high country of Colorado. Thunderstorms, rain, and high wind will be the only update I may include, IF there is anything negative to report insofar as leaking or structure, but given the quality I doubt I'll need to change my rating. If you have ever wanted a canvas tent, a solid 4 season, roomy, quality tent, this is a sweet dream and a bargain!

5The mother of all tents!
By Hyme Dagreat
Yes, it is very expensive. So is a Ferrari. It's your call. You either get a tent at Wal Mart to use and throw away. Or buy this quality built product that will last for many years and perhaps generations. The choice is up to you.
